It's probably not a hard change. Buy them, plug them in.
Yeah the 2kish cost is DIY. There's a guy that makes a wiring harness that makes it plug in play, but the headlights themselves are what are expensive.

Is that the ones that go on the Raptor?
I have an FX4, so yeah mine would be the same as the headlights on a Raptor. But in general I'm just talking about the HID's that are an option on 2013's.

I can't believe they're 2k. I would have thought about 700-800 for the pair.

Yeah, plan on putting a 2.5" leveling kit then put 35s on it.
Ditto, but probably 2" so I don't drag arse when I need to tow something.

Yeah i thought the same. I dont remember exactly, but I wanna say before tax they were like 650 per side for the FX4/Raptor/Harley ones.

Different housings, wiring, bulbs, mechanical assemblies, etc.
HIDs aren't cheap, even factory.

You got that quote from ford?

Yeah, thats outrageous. I think the regular headlights look better, but damn those HIDs are badass.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Like on the Mustang, Ford is making it an option to keep costs down.
Wish they could be had on the 250...

I havent personally asked about them, just going by what I've read from others on forums. There are other options to be had for cheaper but I want the factory ones.

For any sort of non-chrome model, the factory black HID's look sick. Like comparative to how the FX4/Raptor/Harley tail lights look that much better.

Plus, the factory ones will always be legal and pass inspection.

for sure. Not sure why Ford insists on putting those fugly tail lights on all the other ones.

I'll try to get some info from my uncle on them.
Posted on 5/20/13 at 9:43 pm to Soul Gleaux
If I can get a better deal on them I'll let you know. I can pick them up.

I put the harley tails on my truck immediately
Posted on 5/20/13 at 9:50 pm to Croacka
How much were they? I might do the same eventually.

If you wanna go the extra mile, you can paint the groove running around the outside of em black, to eliminate that white strip of plastic. Looks real clean.

i put the rancho quicklift shocks/coilovers on the front and matching shocks in the back. shocks have adjustable settings. added bfg at 285/65/20's (34.7 in)on factory 20 wheels. tires are still inside stock fender flares. just enough lift but not too much. love it.
