Everyone should watch the Sonicsgate documentary. The last line really struck a chord with me. One of the Seattle citizens (I think he was an artist) said that he would love to get back a team in his great city, but he does not want to put another city through the heartbreak they went through.
Pretty much every Sonics fan wanted an expansion team rather than the Kings. Most weren't mad about not getting the Kings, they were mad about the NBA using Seattle as a pawn to get Sacramento a new deal and then not guaranteeing expansion.

I realize that the documentary is not that relevant to this. I just thought it was very well done and the closing line was fantastic and relevant to this situation.
I really wish the US (and Canada) was big enough to successfully support 32 teams in each of the four major sports. I definitely want to see Seattle and another metro get an NBA team soon, but I do not want anybody to relocate.

How did the NBA use Seattle as a pawn? They didn't force the Maloof's to deal with Hansen and Ballmer. The Maloofs were the problem in this whole ordeal. Working with the league and the city of Sacramento on a arena deal only to pull out and work out a sale of the team secretly for it to be relocated. Did the Maloofs really think they would get their way?

Does the NBA really want expansion? That sounds like a terrible idea. Moving a team seems to make the most sense
