I will be in Richmond while the Super Regionals are going on, and thinking of going to a game. How difficult do you think it would be to get tickets? Also any other advice you could share would be great as well.
TIA

Hey man, I actually haven't been to a game for a few years, and I certainly have never attended a super regional in Charlottesville, so others may be able to give you better advice. That said, I am guessing you'll be able to find tickets. The support is great, but it is not on par with an LSU or Arkansas type crowd. Maybe call the Athletic Dept. beforehand and see if you can either buy from them in advance or if they can direct you to a legit market for tickets.
Davenport Field is slightly north of UVA's central grounds, slightly south of the grad (Law and Darden) schools, and easily accessible. Not sure about the parking situation, but you can likely find a spot on central grounds and make the 20 or so minute walk to the stadium. The tailgating scene is traditionally pretty barren for baseball games but the athletic complex is close to US29, which has plenty of restaurants for a pregame meal. there also are some bars on 29, but it's not the main bar locale for students if that's what you're in the mood for.
Hope that helps. As you can tell, my knowledge is more about UVA in general and less about the logistics of attending a baseball game.

Ok thanks for the help. I will call the ticket office when it gets to that time.
I don't need college bars, as I am about 10 years older than them, and would likely be with my step-dad. Is 29 the road you would take off of 64 to get to the airport? Cuz now that you mention that I kind of remember a bunch of places on my way to the airport. Granted that was liklely 6-7 years ago. Didn't expect LSU type crowds or tailgating. Do you know of a good free UVA message board, that could help? The Sabre looked promising, but I don't really want to pay.

The Sabre has a free board last time I was over there. Doesn't compare to tigerdroppings, but they at least used to have some decently informed posters.
Yes, the airport is a little N of C-ville on 29. That is the main strip mall drag in town. 29 will take you to DC if you go north and eventually turns into I-85 in the Carolinas if you head South.

Thanks. Didn't see that the first time. Went back to sign up. And hopefully get some good information from there.
