West Monroe — Cameron Robinson doesn't view Alabama as the lone frontrunner in his recruitment.
Rumors to that effect are just an unsubstantiated part of the process high-profile prospects face, West Monroe's offensive tackle said.
"There ain't nothing to it," the consensus five-star prospect said. "People just talk. I'm not leaning toward anybody. At the end of the day, I'm gonna sit down and make a decision. Me and my family are going to figure out what's best, which school's best for me."
Alabama and LSU have long been involved and remain on equal footing atop Robinson's list of favorites, he said.
The No. 2 ranked player for 2014 on the NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune Nifty 50 continues to receive scholarship offers, although he said he's lost track of which schools and how many programs have now extended those proposals.
"It's been pretty fun, but I've gotten pretty used to it over the past year or so," he said. "I've gotten a couple new ones, but honestly I don't really know how many offers I even have.
"I stopped counting a while back."
No other programs have been able to keep up with the Crimson Tide or Tigers in their pursuit of the 6-foot-6, 315-pound standout.
But others may increase their standing this summer.
"Those two are the No. 1 definite frontrunners because those are schools that are showing probably the most interest in me and those are the two schools I'm interested in the most," Robinson said. "Those are the two frontrunners, but as other schools, I was thinking about maybe taking a trip to Texas A&M this summer and maybe going to Georgia or maybe Florida or Florida State."
Robinson does expect "more than likely" to stay within the Southeast, though, even if his college of choice is not necessarily an SEC school.
Robinson plans to announce his decision in January at the Under Armour All-America Game in St. Petersburg, Fla.
