No one will probably remember this show, but years ago NBC had a show named Kings that only ran for one season. It was based on the biblical story of David set in a modern era.

The story line worked really well being set in the modern times, and I thought the acting was great. The show had tons of potential, but of course NBC cancels anything that shows promise but gets off to a slow start.

I remember this one coming out and me thinking "I don't see NBC giving it enough time" so I held off and was going to catch up if it got a 2nd season.

Great show. I was disappointed when it got cancelled but it was marketed horribly. If NBC would have played up the Biblical aspect more it would have had a much larger initial audience.

The idiotic marketing coupled with the constant timeslot changes, doomed it from the beginning.

I think they canceled it because it was costing too much right?

Yea. I want to say it was the most expensive show they had done - but I may be wrong on that.
