I was nervous about the music as well, but I think it was fine IMO. When taking into account the main theme of Gatsby's life at the end of the book, wanting the present to recede into the past, it makes it actually kind of work in a weird way.

If you have no appreciation/understanding of the book, you will not enjoy it. The rotten tomato critics I've read so far have been pretty damn ridiculous. I understand the music critique, but mod of those people have very obviously not read the book. The movie stayed surprisingly a lot closer to the book than I thought it would.

I like the movie. I like the story of The Great Gatsby. The acting was great. It was kind of odd seeing it in 2d, because some parts are obviously made for 3d. I did not like the radio music that was shoved there, it felt very forced. And i feel the music is not going to allow the film to hold up over tinge very well.
