Waste of time? Had plans to go there Fri night and fish Sat. Forecast looks crappy but most looks like it'll stay north of the area? I'm about to go crazy if I can't get in the boat soon!!

Im starting to learn that if you are waiting for perfect conditions, you are wasting your season.
I have seriously started to embrace the notion that if I get the opportunity(and its not a hurricane) im going. If I catch, great. If not, I spent the day fishing. And I cant remember the last time I regretted going fishing.
So in short, go!!!

A bad day fishing is better than the best day at work, any day.
I can say that I've been on several BAD fishing trips around Grand Isle with strong winds. I've tried fishing Elmer's Island in 4 to 6 feet swells trying to make the best out of terrible conditions.
Good luck if you decide to brave the elements this weekend.

try the bridge in the middle of the night, 50lb test with cut up mullet, white trout etc and a sinker on the bottom

This man is correct. If anything find some cuts up in the marsh towards Leeville. A lot of the specks are still up in the marsh. We fish the dams and oyster beds year around and always come away with some specks and nice grilling reds.
