Big diesels on trucks leave a lot to be tinkered with. I would not mess with a VW's program. They engineer those things to much tighter tolerances. Plus they're already programmer for milage and not power like trucks are. You'll also get better than advertised. My wife has a tdi jetta and averages 39-40 mpg and her commute isnt really hwy miles.

If he has a 2500 diesel and is getting better gas mileage, maybe he's talking about his wifes car? My buddy put gasoline in my diesel and I got NO mileage!
Well, to think about it i did get better mileage. It was riding on a flatbed trailer to the dealer.
