Would not recommend. You can setup almost any grill as a smoker. I set up my grill for two zone cooking and add a foil packet with the wood chips over the hot side and smoke my ribs on the indirect side.
Check out amazingribs.com. He has lots of tips for this and rib recipes.
If i had to cook them inside i would braise in a slow cooker.
