as long as the fish are free to swim in & out of it, they're not his. if the crabs (or fish) are in a trap, i'd say (and i think everyone else on this board would agree with me) that those fish are essentially owned by whoever owns the trap. do the oil rigs offshore own the fish under them, too? gosh they worked so hard to build those rigs, and now all these people are coming to potlick their rig spots. lol

those fish were caught and trained pets to stay by the pier. They were like cats. i mean cats are free to roam and walk around, doesn't mean they can be stolen .
