First thing is this grill is awesome. I absolutely love it. It turns out the best cooked bbq.

It's actually an old cast iron tool box that he took the tray out of and cut a rectangular opening on one side so you can regulate how much air goes in it. The door to regulate it is held in place by 2 old chain links from a conveyer belt that are welded onto the side of the box.

The smokestack is a lead pipe that's connected to the box by a lead elbow.

Anyway, enough of that. We cooked some ribs, smoked sausage, chicken and some hot dogs on it for the kids today. This was how it looked when I put my ribs on it. Every 30 minutes or so, we gave the meats a few shots of Southern's spray bbq basting sauce. Comes in a squirt bottle.

My portion of the ribs.

Why are the legs of the grill cemented into those concrete poles?

Are those unbroken concrete core samples?
