Not much competition in the East. The Bulls were without their star and their second best player was ailing all season. The Knicks number two player barely contributed this season. Tyson Chandler also took a step back this year as well. Boston lost their best player.

There wasn't much stopping the Heat from being the number one seed. They were near 100% healthy while the next 3 teams all had injuries.
