Did you read it?

You gotta have Pippen. If they have a dominant forward, Pippen is our best hope of containing him.
Lebron.
This was LeBron's best defensive season in his career and he wasn't the best defender at his position. Or the second. Or the third.

Lebron was better defensively in 09 and 10 then he was this year. He just had more responsibility under Mike Brown in Cleveland.

Simmons had this discussion before with Bob Ryan. This was his team:
Magic Johnson
Michael Jordan
LeBron James
Larry Bird
Bill Walton
Basically, you have to have big guys who are willing to rebound and share the ball. Johnson, James, Bird, and Walton all fit that mold. Then you have Jordan, who is your "go-to guy."
I really like this team, to be honest. Walton would be PERFECT for a team like this.
If you have a "go-to-guy" then the other guys passing ability is useless

No, it isn't.
That is a retarded statement.
ETA: Pierce is the Celtics' go-to guy. Rondo is not useless. Garnett averaging 3 assists from the center position is not useless.

In the half court it is. Jordan is not cutting and spotting up for open shots like Byron Scott. He's getting the ball in isolation nobody passes him the ball he creates and scores or passes out of double teams to spot up shooters like Darrell Armstrong.
The dominant iso scoring wing and the great passing PG has NEVER worked. Kidd/Carter Nash/Kobe Dantley/Isiah and a few others. Its rarely even tried because its proven to be unsuccessful.

And just because that guy has some formula as to why LeBron is the greatest defender of all-time, that doesn't mean he is the greatest defender of all-time.

This is a nice unsupported conclusion. And also one that happens to be completely incorrect.

It's much more than that. When you aren't on your phone, read the entire grantland article. It's very interesting. Inside look at how SportsVU is changing basketball
Here is the portion where Lebron is mentioned.

Ultra-aggressive help defense is really hard work. Replay that clip and watch how far DeRozan's ghost has to move as the Knicks swing the ball. That's brutal, and it's not a coincidence that the only team that consistently mirrors the help defense of its ghosts is Miami, Rucker says. The Heat have three of the best wing defenders in the league in Shane Battier, LeBron James, and Dwyane Wade, and the latter two are among the NBA's most gifted pure athletes. James can mimic DeRozan's hyperactive ghost in a way no other player can, Rucker says. "LeBron basically messes up the system and the ghosts," Rucker says. "He does things that are just unsustainable for most players."

I just want to reiterate that whoever wrote this is dumber than a bag of hammers.
