I watch the Tigers and other games on ESPN3 all the time. I can't ever recall having to input login or my password to my cable provider.
Maybe things are done differently here in MN. Then again, if watching on a mobile device, such as a lap-top, while away from home, the login info might just be required.

If you are in the viewing range of the channel that carries the broadcast you must put in cable provider info.......aka CSTs regional broadcast area
