I think we can eliminate GSW as EG trade partners

Personally, I think it was always a pipedream, but it was a popular thought around here, based on heavy rumors, that we might be able to pull Thompson out of them, + parts.
I think that's dead. They are moving on to the 2nd Round of the playoffs, which I think is ahead of even their schedule. They are playing great, and have a legit star in the making in Curry. They will want to add to their young talent, let Thompson and Barnes grow with the team...not subtract from it.
I just don't see a team like that and a coach like that wanting anything to do with EG and his contract.
So, time to move on from them and think about others.

Definitely. I didn't understand it much from GS's standpoint to begin with. They have a really good team, and they'd trade a SG that works well with their team for a guy with injury history? Not to mention Gordon needs to control the ball to be effective, and Steph Curry should be the one controlling possessions for GS. A spot-up shooter like Klay is a much better piece at SG to complement Steph.

Yeah, when I proposed that trade I said they need to get to the 2nd round with Thompson and Barnes not contributing much. Kind of like for CP3 to consider coming back Gordon needed to carry the team to or at least near the playoffs.
There's an MSB thread about what star the Nuggets should go after, Gordon might be a good fit with them and they have lots of assets waiting to be traded.

Was just on Trade Machine trying to figure out a trade with them. Obviously we'd want Wilson Chandler or Danilo. Don't think they are willing to give up DG.

Who is really in play for them, trade-wise?
From what I can see, they may be willing to send out Chandler and McGee, as well as entertaining a S&T for Iggy if he doesn't want to return.
We could sign Iggy on our own if we wanted, but being able to ship out Gordon in exchange for him would mean either getting other pieces from Denver or retaining enough cap room to make a play for Pekovic.

I'm not sure about the rumored deal before, but Denver should be sellers and GS buyers. Whether they will buy Eric, I do not know, but Thompson is overrated.
If they are willing to take chances, Gordon may be of interest.

I agree. He's basically Ryno as a SG. It'd be redundant to trade for him with Ryno here already.

Yeah because having a penetrating PG (Burke? Rivers?) with AD down low and Ryno, Miller and Thompson spreading the floor would never work... That team would be very reliant on one creator, but as long as that guy can beat or pass out of the double you'd be giving good shooters tons of open shots.

Floor spacing is for losers.

Just saying. If we trade our one guy good at getting to the lane for another 3 point specialist then I don't see it working. We'd have to find a guy that can penetrate. You don't get spacing when all you can do is shoot from the perimeter.

Trey Motherfricking Burke.
I also think that people are giving up on Austin way too early, and he's shown ability to penetrate.

Yeah I'm actually high on Rivers becoming at least a good bench player. Burke has been one of my favorites as well but there's no guarantee he will produce at the pro level.
I also would like to say that I cooled off a lot on Wilson Chandler after watching him play. He loves to play the JR Smith offense. "Awkward angle? Well defended? See if I give a frick." He's good, but maybe not as good as we'd like to think.
