The question is what is more important, natural talent or coaching and developement?

Both, a very talented guy under terrible coaches could go unnoticed.

A guy with mediocre talent could show out with the right coaches.

They are both absolutely vital.

Guys that go high from smaller programs like Fisher usually are guys that fall thru the cracks or become late bloomers, something like that. But it does show that talent comes thru, even at lesser or losing programs.

It's guy who generally are 1 of 2 things...

1. Academics, generally smaller schools on the mid-major, DIAA or DII level can get kids in that bigger schools simply cannot
2. This is generally more likely, big time coaches dont see the talent level translating due to a number of reasons (not fast enough, not big enough, not athletic enough, etc). But they do evaluate the guy.

Very, very rare these days a guy goes completely unnoticed throughout the entire recruiting process and ends up at a small school. This is something that could happen a lot easier decades ago without the connections, support staff and technology coaches have at their disposal nowadays. Some guys amy take longer to recognize in the process, but it's really tough for a guy to "look" talented and go completely unnoticed.

What does that matter?

Serious? It matters a lot in recruiting. We can say "we just sent 9 kids to the NFL through the draft" and "we're among the very top of colleges with NFL players". A&M has to sell "we can become a LSU, Bama (etc...) as far as success in sending kids to the NFL"
