Wow, just seeing some of the names in these videos brings back memories. Shyrone Cary, John Corbello, Chad Lavolais, Robert Royal, Marquis Hill, LaBranden Toefield... We've had a lot of fine players come through since Dinardo got the ball rolling again. Nearing 2 decades of greatness. We are enjoying a golden age of LSU football. We better not take it for granted. It may last for a long time, but it won't last forever. Tough times will come again sooner or later.

The next 2 seasons, LSU had a losing record. The resurgance in in-state recruiting was kicked off by Dinardo, but it was before, not after, that Florida game.
1999 was the year of recruits that were influenced by the 97' Florida game. The 98' recruiting year was almost done when this game took place. Here is a list:

1999 – Much like Hallman’s Class of 1992, DiNardo’s 1999 collection of recruits had big things ahead of them. Unfortunately for DiNardo, he wasn’t around to see Bradie James, John Corbello, Domanick Davis, LaBrandon Toefield, Demetrius Hookfin, Norman LeJeune, Jerel Myers, Rodney Reed and Donnie Jones spark the greatest period in LSU football history.
This is the recruiting class that sparked the early success for Saben.
One of the best recruiting classes we have ever had.

The YouTube video skips the "LSU-LSU" chants that erupted (starting in the student section) after the 93 yd screen pass TD that UGA scored to tie the game with about 4 minutes to go. One of my favorite moments as a fan was sitting in the student section as this began and then took off through the whole stadium. Outstanding show of support for the team, even after they just allowed a long score by the other team.

Those videos were a nice stroll down memory lane. I was lucky enough to be at both. Crazy with all the fans on the field right next to the final play in the UT game.

If you walk thru the locker room there Is a big wall sized overhead photo of ts .....it's the 2000 Tennessee game and was put on that wall because they felt it was the game that began the resurgence of the football program.

I was at both games and rushed the field on both occasions, actually planted the piece of the Eye of the Tiger I tore up after the TN game in my yard. Both were historic games for this team. Florida 97' gets my vote as the start of the resurgence because of the ties with instate schools that were created after that game. The success of Saben and Miles heavily weighed on these relationships.
Just my opinion.

Was at the game. The Twillie INT in the back of the end zone! The Magic was Back! Well, It was the beginning of a slow climb to the top.

Bring back the magic game is probably the correct answer big picture wise
It restored hope and belief if nothing else and was the first ember for LSU football circa 2013
Uf 97 was great and important but the auburn game was more important to get it started

I was there, loudest game I have ever been to. The stadium was shaking on the last defensive stand for the tigers. Bum rushed the field grabbed some grass.....guy who has season tickets by me grabbed either J. Reed's or Randal's helmet.
I actually remember watching the players just letting ppl take their equipment so they could get to the locker room.

The term "resurgence" can fit many games, but LSU wasnt a big boy again until UGA 2003
Greatest game I've ever witnessed in Tiger Stadium. You knew after that game that this was a special team.
