Heard it earlier. He laughs at Shep and says Eagles could lose future picks if true.

Don't the top players in the draft negotiate the terms of their contract before the draft starts? Maybe not as much with the rookie scale, but it definitely happened in previous years (see Eli Manning).

The agent probably told RS that he had a "done deal" with the Eagles. Shep probably thought that that meant he was signed and there was nothing wrong with saying so. Then when other teams called (why his agent wouldn't have taken over his cell phone for the day is beyond me) he said he was already committed to the Eagles.

Seems like a pretty simple misunderstanding and I am not sure why everyone would blame Shep for not knowing any technical draft rules (if there are any here) when he has an agent talking to a professional front office. Just player hate in my book.
