Interesting read? It's like 5 sentences long... Am I missing something?

I updated the link...the original link linked to an article that linked to the blog that had the meat.

And then there's Jimmy Smith. Chase Stuart has already made a convincing argument for why Smith is one of the best wide receivers in NFL history, so feel free to click that link.
Slightly off topic, but this guy got overlooked due to two things.
1) He played for the Jaguars
2) His name was a pedestrian "Jimmy Smith."
By the way, his early career injury problems could be inspirational.

I'm surprised LSU ranks that high after the pro careers of Jamarcus Russell, Glen Dorsey and Tyson Jackson.

All played 3 seasons at least, with Dorsey and Jackson still in the league.
Me thinks you don't know how short an NFL career is or how hard it is just to make the 53 man roster. Those people drag down every school because there are more "failures" by a long shot than successes.

Plus Dorsey and Jackson are considered pretty damn good 3-4 DE's at stopping the run.
quote:
1. Glenn Dorsey is one of the best 3-4 DE’s in the NFL against the run. His numbers support that. PFF ranks Dorsey second, behind only Ray McDonald of the 49ers in run defense. Dorsey was graded at +16.1 on the year. McDonald was +16.4. Dorsey was fourth in stops with 32. He missed only two tackles.

7. Tyson Jackson has developed into a top 10 run defender. The numbers support this. PFF grades him as the sixth 3-4 DE best run defender in the NFL. His overall grade is +10.0. He recorded 40 stops. He missed only three tackles. He was third in the NFL in stops with 40.
3-4 D linemen are mainly supposed to stop the run and take up blocks so the OLB can get the sacks.
