Safe pic vs risky pick
I dont understand this mentality. the denialists on here act like taking JJ would have been flipping a coin between greatness and worthlessness.

every player drafted has some measure of risk attached to them. Different organizations calculate such risk in different ways. demarcus ware was a risk at 11. Played for troy for fricks sake. Jason piere paul was a risk at 15. mingo was a risk at 6. trading up to get MC at 6 was a risk. apparently the steelers didn't think the risk for JJ was too high two spots later.

And where in the world does the stuff about JJ's character come into play if it's being compared to KV? do you all view him as a saint? He's a class a douche, who regularly got into altercations on 6th. He's always had a huge ego and has never been much of a team player. And even IF he has a better work ethic in the weight room, etc, athletes have physical ceilings. I'd be more optimistic if he was a junior, but he's been in an nfl strength and conditioning program for four years at texas. He's not going to effort himself into going from a 4.63 to a 4.5

I'm not sure I do either but your asking TD for God's given answer to this makes me laugh.
Prepare to be dissapointed.
The mentality you speak of is at Saints HQ. Perhaps there you can find your answer for it does not lie here.
Good hunting.

Gonna miss "The Vikings"
