How much cash has Matt Barkley lost by returning to school?

Probably would have gone to Dolphins in the Tannehill spot last year.
Millions and millions lost.

He definitely lost some major cash, but he has saved himself from being a 1st round embarrassment in the future.

Pretty weird right? How could he be that worse after one year? I heard McShay say he'll be a better pro because of the challenges he faced this year. Prob true but doesn't help his pocket book

What is the problem?
I obviously have not done research?
What's height weight? Poor arm? Stench of Lane Kiffin on him?

Scouts wouldve found the same problems they found this year

Dolphins still would have taken him over Tannehill IMO.

Depends on how much he got from Kiffin to stay.

I'd be willing to bet he was advised that there would be several teams looking to solve their QB questions in this year's draft, and that he was a logical candidate to fit in the Andrew Luck and RGIII category for high draft pick status. Unfortunately, his play was inconsistent, he got hurt and NFL teams found alternatives to drafting QB's. The advice, if given, turned out to be incredibly bad.

Bullsh!t. HE was "the challenge". He had NFL talent all around him and couldn't do sh!t with it. Talent-wise, USC was better than any team they faced all year. Barkley has to go down as the most overrated QB in college football history. When you lose to the teams he lost to, with the talent he had around him, there can be only one answer -- Barkley SUCKED.
I have a friend who is a huge USC fan. When Barkley announced last year that he was coming back, he was ecstatic. I just looked at him and said, "WHY? He sucks. You should have hoped he would go pro so that you could start training someone else for the future." He told me I was nuts and said that USC would win the BCSNCG with Barkley leading the way. I told him that USC would have at least three losses and two of them would be because of Barkley. Boy, was I off. He sucked even worse than I thought.
And, don't kid yourself, that's EXACTLY what the pro scouts saw. Last week I said that Barkley was a 4th-5th round pick AT BEST. I wouldn't even draft him with a 7th rounder. He'll be a 3-5 year back-up, if that. And, that's only because of the USC hype.

Not to mention with the rookie salary cap, the choice doesn't have to be as painful. Whether 1st or 6th round (or undrafted), prove yourself and you gonna get paid...

The GMs at all NFL teams are licking their chops waiting to bring in Jamarcus Russell.

Tannehill got a 4 year deal worth 12.6 million
Kirk Cousins was picked in the 4th round last year and recieved a 4 year 2.5 million dollar contract.
So Barkley lost a lot of money

Darren Rovell tweeted yesterday that had Barkley gone out last year, he likely would have gotten $12 mil guaranteed. At this point, he'll likely get like $500k guaranteed.

I figure he lost 6 million in one year.
