When my brother was in the seals they used glocks anyway. Nobody was going to dictate their weapons to them. They may not show up in the armory for inspection, but if you checked what they had going out, it was whatever they wanted. Generally a sidearm is kinda like a knife to them. Something you really don't want to have to ever get down to. You have a rifle for a reason.

And he's team glock all the way today. Works in the industry and goes to all the big shoots. Glocks are winning those lately btw. That guy they've got shooting for them is a fricking badass. Yes I know... impossible to believe a glock is beating 1911's in competition shooting. HERESY! BURN HIM!!!

I made that exact point when I pointed out how Force Recon Marines and other elite operators were choosing to use a 1911 and that it wasn't because of some general.

I've never actually attacked Glocks, if I recall correctly, I'm only challenging the implied, or asserted, idea that 1911s are basically flintlock pistols compared to newer firearms. I think Glocks are great guns, they're just not for me. I don't enjoy using them, that doesn't mean I think they're a poor pistol.
