Well if those are country, I take back my statement.
Check them out. They are both legit.

If you're looking for more traditional country singers: Jason Boland, Aaron Watson, Jarrod Birmingham, Jason Eady

I know about about them. That's why I said if they are country, I take back my statement.

I mean they aren't "Nashville pop", but I don't consider that to be real country music.

There is pretty much no other genre you could fit Turnpike Troubadours in except country.... Americana maybe

Turnpike definitely has a pretty unique sound, but it's country. It's pointless to argue them into a smaller sub genre in my opinion. Of course, that's true for a lot bands.

I can't believe this crap hasn't burnt out like Disco yet..
..and don't get me started on this Colt Ford jackass! Even that name smells of cheese.

American Aquarium is awesome, but they are not country.

American Aquarium is one of my favorite bands, and I still can't put my finger on their genre; I call it red dirt roots rock. The Bible and the Bottle is probably their most "country" album. Turnpike is my favorite band, but Bingham's Mescalito is easily one of the best albums I have ever heard- it's the denotation of "country" IMO

Well that's just pretty silly.
Drank myself asleep again, woke up in a strangers arms, I thought of you...
Pretty damn "country"

I get so sick of subgenres
AA is country. They may be pseudo-punk red dirt post country but they're country
