Seems like some ACC folks are pissed off their conference was the target of interest for being picked apart. I get that.

But when Maryland leaves the conference and we've seen major changes in the SEC, Big 12, and PAC 12 over the last couple years I'm not sure where the "was never going to happen" idea comes from. It very well could have happened IMO. It was just that North Carolina looked at their options and didn't like any of them all that much outside of the ACC.

Yeah, the ACC saved themselves from destruction, and they shoudl be commended for that, but let's not pretend they weren't on the precipice. And, as a Maryland fan from childhood, I'm happy as hell to be out of the conference and in the ACC.

The ACC was making Maryland's "permanent rivals" Pitt and BC, two teams the Terps have almost no history with. Once you weaken the bonds of tradition, there's nothing holding you there. So what was Maryland's dollar figure?

One dollar more than what the ACC is paying.

or course it was never going to happen, that's why the ACC Presidents passed the measure, because there was no chance any of their members were being approached.
