I brought my boat to The repair shop you recommended, Outboard Services a few weeks ago. When he took one of the carbs apart he saw right off that the " boat dealership on Florida in Denham" didn't install all of the parts that come with a carb rebuild kit. They didn't put a plastic plug in that helps the idle. When I told him about how much fuel it was burning he told me without that plug in the carb I had a "jet" about .25" in diameter. Go figure. I wish I had some recourse to recover what I spent with them. He also said you didn't need to pull the prop, you set the carbs by vacum. I might be getting a little long in the tooth but but theh lesson was learned. Thanks for telling me about their shop. I can't wait for the wind to lay down and get after some of those silver sweetys. Thanks again!

Wow a 1/4" jet! What kind of fuel useage were you getting? That would empty a fuel tank pretty quick

Ray's a lil rough but I'm a firm believer of his talent and honesty.

we've all been screwed by a boat mechanic at one point in our lives before.Last mechanic I had rebuild my old Johnson 200 Venom forgot to install one of the main carb to intake gaskets. That cylinder ran lean and I ended up throwing a rod. Dude told me "Well, you knew something was wrong with it after you picked it up from me,why did you keep running it?"
Motherfricker wouldn't warranty the engine.

That would've resulted in a bucket of spilled roofing nails if it were me.

I didn't mention the name, but I don't have anytrhing nice to say about them. I was a complete dumdass and took it up there a second time. When I got it home from the first trip up there it wouldn't start. Now all I did was pick up my boat and brought it home. Damn thing wouldn't start. Brought it back and they tell the kill switch is bad. Then they changed my lower unit oil and it had just been changed. I'm a little slow some times. but damn if I'm gonna get burnt 3 times.

I actually talked bad about them the other day, when I mentioned that they removed the high performance spark plugs from the boat that we purchased and replace them with cheap car plugs. They lost their franchise from the manufacturer over that one...
