I've read plenty of good things about Speer short barrel ammo. They make a similar .357mag load. I've never heard/read anything bad about the gold dot bullet. I love how Speer makes a few different variations of the bullet tailored to different velocities.
To the OP, any hp that you can shoot well will do. My vote goes to Speer gold dot. I've heard they do very well at .38 snub velocities.
