I don't think marshes is something I have to worry about in eastern pennsylvania. It's mostly shallow rivers and creeks around a here. What are something's to look for in a yak?

Shorter lighter boat great for small waters. No need for a 14' boat there. I would consider a solo canoe. More room for gear, and not worried about water over sides from waves. Dad has a Mohawk Solo 13' that is perfect for that.
