Several OL have been quoted on various ESPN shows as saying there was no way in hell that Kelly's fast paced offense would work in the NLF.T
Works in New England. In fact, Belichick went to Kelly for pointers on running an up tempo offense a couple off seasons ago.
Worked for the Colts.
Worked for the Bills back in the day.
The Saints and Falcons like to go up tempo in spurts.

Yeah, as an Eagles fan, I don't know if Kelly will fail or succeed, but I'm 100% that if he fails, it will be blamed on all the wrong reasons.

It has been seen that when Oregon played better teams they could not just out run them (LSU). You really think that bullshite gimmick offense he ran in Oregon is going to work in the NFL?
Shanahan and Rg3 worked pretty good, but I don't see the pathetic arse Eagles o-line and Michael Vick leading some kind of innovative game changing offense. He has been coaching against these pathetic teams like Arizona (st.), Washington, Oregon State, Utah, UCLA, USC lately, Washington State...he never regularly coached against good D coordinators.
In fact, I guarantee he will not win more than 8 games in the next three years.
Clarification: In any of the next three seasons, he will not win more than 8 games in any given one of them.

the Eagles have a lot of speed on offense already. The real wildcard will be Vick, the guy just can't stay healthy.
Do you pick up a QB in the draft if your the Eagles?
I think Kelly will do alright. Their backfield is loaded with playmakers. Bryce Brown came on strong last year but had some fumble issues.
I think you draft a QB if your the Eagles this year. Foles doesn't seem like the type of QB to run his system. But maybe he is... we'll see.

He also has lost a step IMO.

Interestingly, reporters were saying he looks as "ripped" as he ever has. Presumably getting ready to run more.
That being said, I'm interested how Kelly handles Vick. More than even a pure runner, he likes guys that can make quick, good decisions. Vick does neither. Maybe Chip can bring it out of him, but hard to believe he'd turn over a new leaf at 32-33.

I hope so, but I hope it's a guy like Matt Scott and not Geno or EJ Manuel. A guy that we can groom for a year before plugging him in.

In years past he has looked soft, I was amazed at how ripped he looked on TV yesterday

Yeah, all the reporters were raving about it.
Outside of that one year, Vick's been shitty in Philly, but he's been a good guy. All his teammates like him, even the other QBs. Last year when he got benched, he took it like a champ, and didn't whine.
He's definitely far matured from his old self (not that it's really paying any dividends on the field).

yeah, I could see that. I've seen him getting some love as a mid round pick out there in those mocks.
another thing that I think really hurt the Eagles last year was the Jason Peters injury. If that guy can get it going again, things should work out on the left side. That guy is a mauler in the run game.

Yep, that was a killer. Season may have looked at least a little different with him playing.
He's back and 100% now.

quote:the whole Saban failed in the NFL thing is overblown.
The same was thought about Saban and we all saw how well he did in Miami.
He was there 2 years with a shite team, he didnt do bad. He did what was about expected given his talent.
