Look at the rosters for the Spring Game. Jennings and Retig on Purple while Mett and Rivers are on White. Obviously AJ is #2 and will start or Purple.

Or rivers is the nubmer 2 and will be getting reps with the same receivers as Mettenberger. I mean it isn't normally the case.

Considering Mett wears lead shoes, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets knocked out a series or two. Who goes in when that happens will be interesting.

Oh I know. Us sane people know that's the only way a freshman will go in.

But they can play in the corner.

LSUsports.net said in their write up last weekend:

"Backup quarterback Anthony Jennings completed 8-of-11 passes for 98 yards and three TDs".

And once the rest of the SEC gets film of those "Specific Packages" the element of surprise is gone. As soon as he steps on the field they're going to know what's coming

lol. Oklahoma had a backup QB this year who had a redzone pkg. Scored 10 TDs inside the 10 and one 55yds out. If Jennings can get us half of that with his own package, I think he is worthy of starting over Rivers next year. IMO Jennings should be a better passer than the guy at Oklahoma who is trying to win a starting job in his now senior season.

You are trying to base this solely on they fact that he can't throw but you'll see soon enough.

Have you seen that QB? he is 6' 6" 250. they call him the Belldozer. They used him like Florida used tim Tebow his freshmen year. I haven't seen anything in Jennigns video that looks like that.

Jennings doesn't need to be like that. They could easily give him a rollout or option play inside the 10 with an option to run or to throw;

to a TE at the goal line,
an RB/FB 5 yards out,
or WR in the back of the EZ

The guy has 4.5 speed and a legit accurate arm and will produce as soon as they get him on the field. If he has beaten out Rivers this year then if we have any blowouts against scrub teams, then he needs to get practice for next year.

I'm hoping he can be like that guy Brett Hundley from UCLA. True freshman QB with insane numbers (319/479 66.6% 3745 29/11) his sacks were atrocious though with 52 but I'd chalk that up to inexperience. Also they still had a running game as Franklin ran for almost 1800 yards.

This is the part where you didn't responded with a legitimate argument, right? Douchebaggery looks good on no one.
