By being in the TV version, Tony Randle had more time to develop Felix Unger and he did a great job of doing just that.

Niles and Frasier Crane have a lot of Felix in them and their dad is all Oscar!

Tony Randall was a Jewish kid from Tulsa, Oklahoma, of all places. During WWII, he joined the army, and refused an assignment to the Entertainment division, serving in the Signal Corps instead. He was devoted to his wife, who was an invalid for many years. After she died, he remarried at age 79 and fathered two children
