The Battle of Algiers. The frickers who keep trying to get us into neocolonial wars should be forced to watch it over and over.

Great 3. I'm a big fan of Hero and City of God..

I like a lot of the others in here like Seven Samurai and Seventh Seal. Ran was awesome as well. Amelie, Trainspotting, Y Tu Mama, Oldboy, Pan's, etc are all great choices as well.

Anything Kurosawa or Bunuel. Ran and Belle de Jour being the most prominent.
