I like the show but I hated the way the season ended. Cinematically it was shot well just like the rest of the series but I didn't care for what they did with the story.
But if they bring it back and go back to the original revenge storyline they may be able to salvage the show. There's certainly a place for a western on tv.

I'm not sure if what happened at the end of season 2 will drive him back to his original purpose or steer him further away. The original storyline was much more driven and had purpose, so I agree that they should head back in that direction.
I would not be surprised if what happens in season 3 is as he becomes more invested and involved in the railroad and at the end or mid way point of the season it turns out there is a much larger plot like they (either Hell On Wheels or the Central Pacific RR) enticed the Union soldiers to do what they did because his wife wouldn't sell her land to let the railroad build there and so its really the company he works for or the opposing one thats responsible for everything that has happened.
