I loved mine sometimes and wanted to blow it up sometimes.
In hindsight, I'm glad it's gone. I didn't need it and the guy who bought it knew exactly what he was getting and was happy to get it. It was a pleasant experience for both of us.

Mine is sitting in an enclosed boat shed at Pickwick. I am in Birmingham. Have not pulled it out in two years. I am scared to go there and unlock the door. I know it will be bad.
I've got a beauty that has sat for years. Amped up to get it out this summer and get it back in shape for the water... and selling it!

Did not properly "winterize" for missouri. Busted bearing carrier sleeve in lower unit when it froze solid. Essentially rebuilding lower unit. All parts on hand now for 160 vice 1K for shop to fix.

Changed oil in lower unit
I did that last Feb. How often are you supposed to do that??
every couple yrs, but check it a couple times a yr so if you are getting some water in there, it wont cost you a lower.

If you can...fish year round in your boat and you won't have those nagging problems related to old fuel and stuff.

Oh without a doubt. This is why i normally havent had to do alot of maintenance. My winter time perch trips kept her running great.

So far - Replaced the fuel sending unit. It quit working last summer.
While doing so - had to pull the tank - I found a fuel leak on the back side of the gas tank. The previous owner had ran a screw through the transom and into the aluminum gas tank, then patched it with silicone.
I fixed that as well, and sicne I had the tank completely out at this point, I decided to replace all of the fuel lines while I could get to them easily.
Blower hose was brittle so I replaced it as well.

shite my boat doesn't sit up long enough! in all honesty, though, I think the longest my boat has gone without it being in the water is about 3 weeks in the last year and a half.

Not my boat, but my uncle's.
We had to replace the trailer hubs and rewire some switches. It was hooked up to the van a day later.
