If he stays, can he grow the dreads back out?

#LSU says Johnny O'Bryant III and Johnny Jones will meet with the media at 2 p.m. Sounds like a decision has been made on NBA/school.

I think he announces a return. Either way an announcement needed to be made.

i think the fact that he is doing it this early before the deadline is good...if he was going pro, it would probably be a harder decision and he would take more time with it to get draft stock feedback
I disagree. Johnny (just like 90% of highly recruited HS baskeball players) expected that he would be a 1 or 2 year college player. If he is going pro, I don't think the decision was very tough for him.
I doubt they would have a press conference just for him to say that he is staying at LSU (something I'm sure most scouts reccommend he do anyway).

Chad Ford ranks him as the 177th prospect
Does he have a family crisis or something where he needs the money bad?

I think it's a mistake if he declares. The Draft boards I've seen don't even have him listed. He could improve his stock with a good supporting cast...

Would increase height to 7-feet

Nope. That's a Johnny Jones team rule. Clean Cut.

It's a move to talk about next year's team with JOB and create excitement and anticipation. Nothing more.

This is a good thing that he's doing it this early. He can test the waters and see where he ends up or where he's projected to be drafted and decide to come back before the deadline.

From draft expert sites I've seen ranked 88th on one and not in the top 100 on the other...

It's not that early. To be honest, almost every other SEC player on the fringe has already announced.
