Probably would have been better for Miles if Jefferson didn't come back off of suspension and then he would have had to have stuck with Lee. That way we lose the 11/5 game to Bama and probably to Arkansas also. We don't go to the SEC championship game or the BCSNC game. But people would look at it and say at least he went 11-3 with subpar QB play and there is no controversy.

100%.

And it would have been much easier for Miles to just throw Lee in after halftime on 1/9 so Lee could embarrass himself and no one would be able to blast Miles for not trying Lee.

But he was actually trying to win, and kept waiting for the D or ST to give us the big play they had all year.

Once it got to 15-0 in the 4th, it would have just been unfair to throw him to the wolves like that IMO.

Miles did Lee a favor at his own expense. Now Lee goes down in legend as some martyr instead of the INT machine he had always been against good defenses.
