Thinking about doing a Moisin Nagant Sporter conversion.

Just because ammo prices are through the roof and I miss shooting. I have all the tools the only thing I lack is the raw mats. Anyone else have experience with these rifles?

Some will criticize you for "butchering" a classic. I say, if they're classics, wtf are they so cheap? There are plenty out there for both.

When my C&R License gets here, I'm gonna do one. Monte Carlo stock and a scout-style scope mount.

No but I have a pair of sporterized mausers.

Do it. Old military rifles make great hunting and shooting rigs when you cut all the extra shite off and put a scope on them.

I have one, but I just shoot it.

I don't care about the collectibility value, it's just a cheap arse rifle that I wouldn't want to waste any money on besides buying cheap ammo. Offhand, open sights at 100 yards, if I'm on paper, that's fine with me.

I have a sporterized 6.5mm Carcano rifle and it shoots very straight. Exploring the scope mount options as well.
