I've heard this before too. I really don't think we could get anyone to take the contract off of our (yeah like I'm on the team) hands. So think we may be stuck with him for now. I'm not sure how the June 1st cuts work, but I think i remember someone mentioning this as a possibility

Multiple probowls, consistent team tackle leader, half a sack away from breaking the single season DB record, great run stopper, great at pressuring the QB, lockerroom presence, veteran team player, no shenanigans, no off field problems, better than average SS...

I forget the figures, but if you look at our spreadsheet of salaries this year, Harper and Smith are 2 and 3 on the list. It makes me wanna throw up. Terrible contracts. I was a big Harper supporter too. He was ballin' much of 10', but that contract was ridiculous.

Think this was a result of Greg Williams wanting him in his system bad considering how he was used under him. All that being said I still think he is a sold SS safety if a bit overpaid (if you consider a bit maybe 3 mill a year overpaid that is)
