Wednesday night, I blurted out loud "this cocksucker is shooting fricking 57% from the field!"

My two year old, who is in that part of his life where he just repeats everything he hears, goes "COCKSUCKER!"

Dirk.

Will be my toughest decision in the offseason. Keeper or not?

Pushing the trade deadline up significantly may work. That way no one knows if they are selling out yet and everyone will be forced to compete.

Have a pick deadline a month earlier.

Then only way to improve until the real deadline is trade a stud.

Selling late isn't a problem.

I think it will just make people sell out even earlier. There's a blueprint for how to win this league, and people are smart enough to know that if there team isn't a true contender, you might as well set yourself up nice for next year.

people assume selling late doesn't involve risk. you held out and got less for my 1/2 than you would have gotten 2 months prior, imho

and i'm not criticizing you, just showing how sometimes those who "sell out" don't get consistent value

transactions in this league have evolved a good deal since the first couple years. we knew a 1st got you a borderline elite guy or 2 really good guys. 1 elite keeper got you a solid keeper and 2 really good guys. etc etc. it's different now

Mr. Woo: WHITE COCKSUCKER

Deadwood is my favorite series on HBO after The Wire because of Swingen and Woo.

I traded a 4th for Gravy
I traded a 3rd for BJ Mullens because Rondo made a predatory trade. I probably got over on the Gravy trade with Matt and obviously made one of the worst trades of the season for BJ.

I traded a 1st for Hibbert: FAIL.
I traded a 3rd for Nelson: When he plays, its worth it. When he doesn't, FAIL.
I traded a 4th for Thornton: Had to drop him last week in order to preserve a victory over Toulbag.

I'm not sure I would have been a 2 seed if I didnt make those deals, but two of those guys have given me zero stats this week, and the other one only helps out in categories that I am not gonna win anyway.

I had a playoff team when I sold out. I had 2 picks in the first 5 rounds but came out of the draft with 3 top 50 guys in Lin, Duncan, and Parsons along with a legit center in Asik. I chose to sell out early because I wanted to upgrade my keepers and add a couple of picks. I am not someone who brags about making the playoffs. Actually if you are a 5-6 seed every year with nothing to show for it, that tells me that you are a lazy, uninterested owner.

You may be right...I held out for as long as I did because I was teetering on being a playoff team all year.

Iggy had his moments on my roster. Mullens for a 3rd was wool over the eyes.
