quote:Ehhhh. I wouldn't go that far. They were known for being the most aggressive team in NA for a long time. They've adjusted their playstyle to the meta and have started playing slower, but they can still pull out a nasty early game if the need arises.
C9 has a lack-luster early game
ETA: NWS isn't "middle-tier". They qualified as the 3rd best Korean team. They beat KTB, KTA, and SKT (only dropping a single game out of 10) to qualify. Definitely not middle tier. They aren't Samsung, but they're definitely the 3rd best team in Korea. When you consider Korea has like 24 teams, you can't really say the 3rd place team is "middle".

Bjergsen's vlog indicated that they thought they would have to try something different than their standard matchup in order to beat SSW.
I think they've seen during their scrims vs SSW that they can't win straight up (either due to superior scouting/analysis/coaching of SSW to scheme against TSM, or just simply due to skill or team ability).
He said they might have to try new things because they scrimmed each other like 20 times before groups. He never said anything about indication of wins or losses. He simply said they'd have to come up with new strats since White has seen most of them from scrimming them so much. In a Korean interview, Locodoco actually said results with White and Blue were fairly even, but that for some reason TSM has a hard time playing with the same mindset on stage as they do in scrims.

quote:Meh. They've been top 5 most of the year, but they aren't the clear cut #3 team in OGN.

They did make a great run in Regionals to qualify, but they've been inconsistent and had a mediocre performance going 5-6 in Champions Summer.
quote:Did you think he's really gonna say we went 2-18 vs SSW? Or whatever it was.

Come on. What is he supposed to say?
"Yeah, these guys are really good and are gonna kick our arse." Yeah right.
Factually yes, he never said SSW is a lot better, but he never would right before they play... would he?
But in a vlog talking about his chances... his body language and context clues indicated that they were trying to stay positive despite the Korean pain train that was on its way.

I took it as... SSW has a lot of advantages and the few things that worked in scrims... SSW will have a chance to evaluate and fix, and TSM will have to come up with new wrinkles to catch SSW off guard to win.
They sure can't tunnel onto champions and lose in Champ Select like they did in groups and expect to win.
