Just read a thread on riot's direction for junglers the 2nd half of S4.
Although they are trying to create more opportunity for jungle to carry, they don't want hard early snowballs. They're pretty up-front about wanting a 15-20 min leaning phase and even adjusted outer turrets to prevent the 2v1 matchups to push down turrets super early.
With the vi, Elise, and early jungle pressure nerfs, they're wanting the jungler to have less of an impact during the laning phase.
This should help make more junglers viable in the current meta.
Late game hyper-carries may see a re-emergence because they won't be penalized for a weak early game.
Jax, tryndamere, etc should have enough time to get fed and force teams to choose a strategy: early jungle pressure on lanes or passive laning with late game damage spike.
Thoughts?

This has always been my gameplan as a bot laner. Granted I like ADC's like Trist.
I can't comment on the junglers, as I never play that role.
I am thoroughly enjoying Ziggs support though. So much fun to play and I can protect my ADC suprisingly well with his kit.

They key thing lately with junglers has been the ability to initiate or at the very least have some sort of hard cc. I think for that reason Tryndamere won't ever be that good of an option for the jungle. With the Elise and Vi nerfs and the incoming Lee Sin rework, it looks like the jungle is going back to a farm fest. However, being able to pressure early hasn't really been the problem. The problem is the majority of junglers are mana hungry, and with the meta being to give blues to the mid laner, junglers are forced to make the choice to either farm or gank. Not both. Champions like Maokai are completely out of the meta for that reason and that reason alone.
