Is Jimmy Graham replacable in our offense?

Lets say he plays one year, and saints are for whatever reason not willing to pay him top TE money in the NFL. We end up tagging him and start searching for a trade partner. Would you trade him for a first or a second and not have to pay the huge money or rather no draft picks and pay him huge bucks to keep around?

You're about to get skull drugged

Depends on the Jimmy Graham we see this year. If it's 2012 Jimmy, thanks for the memories! If it's 2011 Jimmy, pay the man.

Jimmy is money. You have to pay money to make money.
Keep.
Keep.

I would cry uncontrollably if we don't pay him

I posed a question not an opinion.

He better have a huge year if he wants more money than Gronk.

I think so. I love Jimmy and want him to stay, but I wouldn't sweat it if he left. Drew can work with anyone. Colston and Moore are more vital IMO.

I love him too. I just hate when Drew forces the damn ball to him.

This.
I know it was an off year for everyone, but 2012 made me wonder about his focus.

Then the Saints might want to finally invest in a receiving corps. Colston can't carry the whole damn load all the time

I can't believe you guys. Pay the man. No ifs ands or buts

I'd REALLY hate to lose Jimmy but he's replaceable IMO. We won the Super Bowl without him or insane production from the TE position. It's very, very nice to have though.

we have a receiving Corps - wtf are you on about?
Posted on 3/29/13 at 2:24 pm to Thracken13
Oh yeah. It's just A+. Maybe we'll bring back Devery this year and just ride that Ford Pinto right off the rims.

to say we don't have a receiving corps is retarded at best - is it tops in the league? no - but its better than a huge chunk of the rest of the league.

Our receiving corps is like a B-
Big drop off after Colston and Moore.

I love Jimmy, and he has some freakish athletic ability that is matchable by a select few TE's.
That being said if you want to be purely objective the knocks on Jimmy that I have noticed (other than the drops last year) is that he struggles to catch any balls below his knees (I'm sure it's not easy when you are that tall), and he does play a little soft. It is tough to cover him, but he can be brought down much easier than someone like Gronk.
That being said, is he replaceable? The answer is probably doubtful unless you can find another diamond in the rough in the draft. More and more tight ends are coming out that display extreme athleticism and I see the position evolving every year into a more dynamic role so it's not unthinkable.
Regardless, I would like to keep the man if it's at all manageable.
Just as objective of an opinion that I can provide.
