Only Quadro and Firepro are compatible and supported by SW and ANSYS. A GeForce would be unstable, and has been found to be many times.
Most CAD programs are designed for Intel chips IIRC. Looking at benchmark tests, Intel almost always beats AMD. That's why I wanted to stick with Intel.
I also don't do much rendering. It's usually only drawing parts, assembling, and running various simulations.
