I would recommend a 270X. I built my PC to mainly play League of Legends, similar in non graphical needs like WoW.
But it plays even the new titles very very well at ultra on most at 1080p and high on pretty much everything else. Far Cry 4 on Ultra at 1080p and I'm at 45FPS.
You can get one for $129-139 with rebate right now.

I would recommend a 290 off of ebay for under $200. If that's too much, I've seen 7970s as low as $110
