Yeah, even the most solid/expensive units can succumb to the thrashing of mining. People have their favorite brands and swear up and down there's never been a problem, but when you start mining you try to get the best hash for dollar -- that often means putting 90-100% load on PSUs because "the 850w was on sale."

When my ASIC miners arrive I might just convert my mining computer to a full-time gaming computer. Then again I guess ASICs are susceptible to failures the same as conventional computers.
