Don't do that Bruce until you experience it. Telling you.. it looks stupid on paper or in videos but game play is greatly enhanced.
Just think about what TressFX did for Tomb Raider. Made great graphics... awesome realistic graphics.

It is one of those things you don't notice until you turn it off. It isn't essential but it is one HELL of a nice touch.

Don't really need your ram anymore, but I'll still make the trade with you since you can use the higher clock more than me. I'll be on steam tomorrow around 9ish, so message me then.
Now... Would anyone want to trade Puffs RAM for some black heatsink ram?

A good balance between both is better. For some games.. now for FPS games, yes FPS is better.
Buy you 2x 290Xs and have both Bruce!

I swear im not a fan boy, just saying... I hate how most ppl seem to want nVidia to fail but I want both nVidia and AMD to succeed. That is when prices will really drop.
None the less, these first real benches/reviews are a bit disappointing for AMD with Maxwell on it's heels.
GK110-400 - February 28, 2013
GK110-300 - May 23, 2013
R9 290X - October 24, 2013(Maybe 31st?)

So it's a $700 in-between card (i.e. between Titan and 780). Yawn. But still an OK value if Titan prices don't drop.
By the time I can upgrade again, I may force myself to go nVidia, regardless of actual performance value. Just to do it, since I haven't in nearly 9 years. That may be a long time from now though.

Yeah I know..
I hate how the damn Titan's GK110-400 comes with those 24 modules of memory. That would knock off a good $150, no?
Reason I say that much is because the Titan is one of the only cards to have memory modules on both FRONT and BACK sides of the PCB. The production for the cost is higher because of this and adds to that ridiculous price tag.

GT 7800? or 8800 GT/X?

Don't get too far ahead of yourself. We don't know how legit these benches are and it will be better to see them benching at 1440 for these.
tempting...

That's not even close to tempting. 40 bucks more and you can get a 280x, which significantly out performs it.

Men, the 760 needs to drop $30-40 more to be tempting for me. 7950s are just so cheap these days
Posted on 10/16/13 at 10:19 am to bluebarracuda
Yeah but the 7950s and the 7970s will be gone in 2 weeks. The 770 is the one that really needs to drop in price. It's $100 more than the 280x for <5% performance increase.
Posted on 10/16/13 at 10:20 am to brucevilanch
$40? 280x is starting at $300. That 760 is $230 after code and rebate

It will be the same 1080 vs 1440. Just lower FPS/Scores.
EDT:
The difference will come from scaling in CFx and SLi.

Somewhat... AMD has had a bit of an advantage at the higher resolutions with their memory bandwith and what not. It won't be drastic but its something if it is still the case. I am also skeptical of the testing methods of anything written in chinese, I dont understand it so it scares me

How much would you pay for this used?
Seems like a good price.. no?
I'll say somewhere around $275 used because of +$25 S/H.
