With the 36th pick of the Official TD 2013 NFL Mock Draft, the Detroit Lions select:
Datone Jones, DE, UCLA
The Lions addressed their need for a OT with the 5th pick, but they still need help at DE with the departures of Cliff Avril and Kyle Van den Bosch. They signed Jason Jones, but they need another starter capable guy and Jones gives them that.
Jones has an NFL ready body and he's a solid athlete that hasn't fully lived up to his potential. In the Lions system he'll be turned loose to pass rush, which may best suit his skills.
