What size Backpack would you recommend for 2 day hikes?

one that would need to carry a 1 person tent, hiking stove, a meal and some water?
i have a northface that i think is about 72 litres, but may be wrong, its packed away, i used it when i went on a 5 day hike on the AT and it was the right size, but im looking to see what size i would need for just an overnight hike. and which brand would you recommend?
also i currently have a Argstrom 30, would that be big enough for a 2 day hike? not sure if a tent could fit in it, but i also have not seen how small you can get the tents when packed up

You could use either of those bags and pack them accordingly. You don't need to buy a new one. Those 2 cover both sides of the spectrum.

perfect, thats what i was hoping for, what tent would you recommend?
these weekend trips would most likely be taking place in Georgia.
looking for something light weight and easy to set up

for how many people?
I love & would recommend the Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2. It's perfect for one person and their bag but you can squeeze in a chick in an emergency. Don't sleep with someone you aren't fricking or it'll be awkward. It's tiny. You can buy a footprint for it, it's 3 season, it weighs 2 lbs 2 oz, and best of all--- it's FREESTANDING.
I carried a UL1 for the 2nd half of the AT (pics of it in the AT thread).

I agree! You could use the 30.
I use a eureka spitfire for 1. It is not freestanding.

Tent
Packed Size: 6.5 x 19 in
Pack
Dimensions: 21" x 13" x 8" (52 cm. x 33 cm. x 21 cm.)
Stand the tent bag (with poles inside) in an upright position inside your pack and then pack your bag around the tent (which is in the middle). This will keep your tent poles from breaking when you put down your bag. However, that pack seems pretty small so you could attach the tent to the outside.

Just curious, you guys go hiking around in LA/MS?

if you are just doing an overnight thing then the 30 will work but you will have to be an efficient packer
if you are doing more than that then I would either get something in between (50 L) or carry the larger pack with compression straps tightened

not sure if a tent could fit in it
what doesnt fit in your pack can be straped to it
that pack looks plenty big for two days
