There are several brands that use a Honda engine that can be had for ~$300.

I went with a craftsman, and I have been satisfied thus far.

WANT!

I've had two Toros, and could not be more pleased. High rear wheels FTW.

I got the Craftsman with the Honda engine. Used it over the weekend for the first time. My grass is extremely thick and it tried to run off and leave me. Very pleased so far. I poured the oil in, filled up with gas and it started on the first pull.
