Verse and versus are not interchangeable.

even when the Hornets had Chris Paul (one of the most famous and best players in the NBA) and playoff contending teams on the court the attendance was bad for the most part. the only exception is the 2008/09 season when they averaged around 16k per game. the Gulf South in general is just a God awful basketball market plain and simple. we could have LeBron James on the team and still wouldn't average a sellout every game.
You're partially right and partially wrong.
However, what I find the most curious is the obsessive need to post about attendance if it's so hopeless as you say it is. Is this therapeutic for you in some way? I'd really like to know your answer. Do you somehow feel superior in being "realistic" about attendance?
ETA: 42 is correct about the numbers. You may wish to do a little closer research on the first three years the Hornets returned after Katrina and note the pattern and the obvious correlations to what was happening on and off the court.

Arena with a lot of loud local fans is more fun.

Nah, they know what's up and bought the team anyway. There a hell of a lot more patient and realistic than some of our posters.

Image of the city?
Meh. Really it seems to bother our own fans more than anyone else.

Believe good attendance improves chances of the Hornets winning?
Actually, loud home crowds add a bit of a boost at times. Of course, it works in the other direction in a more tangible way . . . winning brings better attendance.
Hey, I actually have an idea for the attendance critics. Let's look at attendance numbers of non-playoff teams and undertake a statistical analysis based on population and other observable, relevant criteria. I think we may be surprised at the results

I'm advocating making little youtube post-game conference call things to try out these last few games.
This isn't what you meant but it gave me an idea for your show, a weekly recap of selected quotes from post game conferences and player interviews. I hate the way that print journalists are now posting a link to videos instead of writing articles. There's a lot of stuff that we probably miss now because it's hidden in a bunch of video files.

Those guys need to realize they are writers, not youtube sensations.

This is one of my pet peeves. I admit that I will *occasionally* read web articles while at work. When the content is in a video that means I usually skip it.

I'd like and AND, not an OR, when it comes to coverage.
To fill the need for a postgame show, this is the best quick idea I had and am trying to get it set up for tomorrow.
There is a rights thing, but we have our own audio etc from those interviews we need to use more effectively.
I don't care about writer video, but it seems easier to do video than audio these days. Odd.

shitty crowd that brought the Hornets down to only averaging 50 more a night than the league worse Kings...thank god the Clippers and Heat are coming so the REAL FANS will show up.
Congrats on beating a dead horse for the last few months.
Can you actually talk about the team and not bitch about attendance? Thanks.

How did they not even sell out for the Clippers game? It was only like 15k.

What a pointless response. Fits.

It's now just become a juvenile exercise for some of our posters.
Can't we all agree that attendance will be below par until we have an exciting competitive team on the court? Jesus, what is the obsession with some of these clowns? This is no mystery.
