I thought you could get a permit to shoot birds off of your crop.

Fwiw, the coyote on the fence trick doesn't work. A guy has some property on the way to where I launch my boat. I always look for the coyotes and fresh ones appear on the fence a couple times a year. He's been at it for as long as I remember.

You can. US Fish and Wildlife can issue a depredation permit for you to take certain migratory birds if they are causing destruction to property. Takes time to make a case for one starting out though.
